Brass foot valves with strainers are the initial filtration point for tank pump and generator equipment, they are fitted with a stainless steel & nylon strainer (@500 Micron Gauze) this strains foreign particles that can potentially damage down stream equipment. The brass foot valves can be fitted to either the end of fuel tank pump pick up line or before the pump, they must not be used as the only filter on the system. They are suitable for suction lines on top-offtake tanks (where an anti-siphon valve is not present). These foot valves are often used in dispensing pump systems, particularly with centrifugal pumps, to prevent the pump from de-priming during rest. The design features a stainless steel spring-operated non-return valve housed in either a brass or stainless-steel (on request) body with NBR or Viton seals, this feature allows pump to stay primed, letting liquid to flow in and keeping it from flowing back.
